This paper is devoted to the analysis of mandatory access restriction system for Oracle DBMS. As the result, several leakage channels are discovered.

For many information system based on DBMS it is often a problem to implement access restriction, which takes information value into account. Such system usually imply mandatory access model. 3) Several objects with different confidentiality levels are created for each access object type.

4) Several user (access subject) accounts are created with different mandatory access rights.

5) A sequence of SQL-queries is formed, which are executed with different mandatory access restriction rights and objects with different confidentiality level. According to the analysis of execution of these queries it is possible to build an access model, and to make a conclusion whether the system has vulnerabilities, which can lead to leakage or corruption of confidential information.

Let us consider access objects in OLS. These are table records, which have unique labels. It is often implied that tables are access objects in OLS because security policy is applied to tables. However tables do not have labels themselves; they just contain labeled rows.

The following basic SQL operations handle individual records:

- CREATE – creation of a new record;

- SELECT – reading of an existing record;

- UPDATE – modification of an existing record;

- DELETE – deletion of a record.

Our experiments consisted of sequences of queries called by users with different mandatory access rights to objects of different confidentiality levels. These experiments made it possible to construct the mandatory access model of OLS to records. We define two variables: I and J. I is a value of object’s label. Smaller values of I indicate higher confidentiality level (the value of 0 corresponds to “top secret”). J is a value of subject’s access level.

The model can be presented in the following formalized view:

1. CREATE \ SELECT \ UPDATE \ DELETE, j = i

2. SELECT, j i

Such mandatory access model on record-level is quite correct and it meets criteria of Bell-La Padula security model. So OLS works correctly on the level of table records.

However, beside records as representation of stored data, users can interact with other data representation, which are not affected by the mandatory access policy. Tables are an example of such objects. Users indeed can modify structure of tables, i. e. add new fields, change their names, and modify data types. OLS loses its ability to work properly on table level.

For instance, a user with higher mandatory rights has a right to create a new field in a table. The name of the field may be confidential itself, and OLS mechanism does not prevent this operation. A user with lower access rights has always a possibility to query names of all the fields.

For example, a new field is created with the name new_password_xxx (where xxx is a top secret information) with the following sql-query:

If another user who does not have any mandatory rights executes the following query (SELECT * FROM user1.test_table; ), he gets an empty data set, however all field names ofuser1.test_table are exposed to him. As it was shown above, column name can contain classified information.

Operations shown in the example create duplex channels of data exchange between subjects with higher and lower access rights, and therefore they can cause leakage of classified information.

Minimum monthly credit card payments on the rise

It is estimated that more than 40% of Americans carry a revolving balance on at least one credit card. This is an enormous number, and it is caused primarily by the security people feel in making minimum monthly payments. When you charge money to your credit card, you are only required to make a small monthly payment to keep the debt from entering into collections, which means that a purchase made in 1995 might still be carried on a credit card in 2006.

Under pressure from the U. S. government, banks are increasing the minimum monthly payments. This can mean both good news and bad news for consumers, though it is supposed to be designed to assist cardholders with paying off debt.

In the recent past, minimum monthly payments have been between 2% and 3% of the total balance owed on the card. This means that 97-98% does not immediately have to be paid, and the balance continues to accrue interest as time goes on. Since some credit card APR’s number between 12% and 20%, consumers are paying off debt over several years.

Federal regulators say that by increasing minimum monthly payments, consumers will pay off their debts faster and spend far less in interest payments. In addition to the rise in monthly minimum payments, credit card companies will also have to include a Public Service warning on all bills stating that paying off debt faster will result in lower interest payments.

For consumers that count on low minimum payments this change might be devastating. It will make it more difficult (rather than less) to get out of debt, and many accounts may be entered into collections. For consumers who can afford the increase, however, they will find that they pay less in interest rates and get out of debt much faster.

This might also help consumers with their purchases. If you frugally determine your spending practices based on your budget, you’ll be less likely to purchase things for which you cannot afford the higher monthly payment. This will result in better spending practices and less debt.

To deal with this new increase, most financial institutions are allocating money that will help to cover defaulting cardholders. They are also cognizant of the fact that they might have to negotiate with cardholders to lower interest rates so that they can afford to pay off their debts. If you are concerned about affording the minimum payment, you are encouraged to call the financial institution to discuss your options.

Be specific: You should be sure to write the item's brand and specific model number in the title, as people will often search only for this information. Make sure that you also say exactly what the item is.

Here are a few examples of good titles. They're real, and they're on eBay right now, making their sellers money. So what makes them good?

This auction for a CD is well formatted: it gives the artist name in capital letters, followed by the album name. It then manages to include the two key words 'CD' and 'album', as well as the word 'new' - that means that anyone searching for 'new oasis cd', 'oasis new album' and so on will find this auction.

"1840 Penny Black stamp, certificate, four margins"

Here's a slightly more obscure one, from the exciting world of stamp collecting. A penny black is one of the oldest and most famous stamps. It uses a few key words that collectors will consider important: 'four margins' indicates that the stamp has been cut out with some margins around it and so isn't damaged, and 'certificate' tells you that the item has a certificate of authenticity - it's a real penny black. Remember to use every bit of space to squeeze in as much important information as you can in the title.

Why Become Wealthy? Believe it or not, I’ve actually been asked this question by a student of mine! She totally did not get why anyone would want to be wealthy. After asking her to define what it was to be wealthy for the class I quickly became aware that she had a mental block to becoming wealthy. Throughout my travels, classes and seminars I find that roughly 45% of the people who are having problems with money have to deal with this issue first before anything else can happen! No, it is not your credit card debt that is the problem, at least that isn’t the core issue with your financial scarcity.

The issue is much more basic then credit card debt. You have not given yourself permission to become wealthy because you haven’t answered these questions for yourself:

1. Do you see money as good or evil?

2. Do you want to have more cash because you can use it to buy things that you or people in your life need or want?

3. Are you afraid of having too much money because the only people who seem to have lots of it are the folks who have done something bad to get it?

These are some of the first questions you need to ask yourself. If you see money as a necessary “evil,” your ability to find and save money, let alone use it wisely, will be colored by your negative view of what it can do. Money is not evil. Money is only a tool, like a hammer. You can use that hammer the right way, to build a house for someone who needs one. Or you can use it the wrong way, to smack someone on the head. Either way, the hammer has no choice in how it is used. Good or bad, right or wrong, the choice along with credit or blame, belongs solely to the person who wields it.

The same is true for money. Money is a useful tool, a medium of exchange that allows you to buy stuff you want. Money spends, regardless of how you get it. The bucks from your paycheck buy just as much as the cash you get from part-time employment, or the coins you picked up in the parking lot. The sales clerk and the shop owner don’t care where you got the money; it spends. The only “good” or “bad” in money is what you bring to it.

If you think that money is “evil,” take a minute to ask yourself some questions.

1. “Why do I believe that money is evil?”

2. “Is my view colored by how my parents handled cash?”

3. “Do my friends have money, and do they use it well?”

Write your answers down on a piece of paper, and then read them aloud to yourself. Why? Because as long as you believe that money is “bad” you will not be able to make or keep much of it. It is very important that you understand the battle in your brain as you go about changing your thoughts on money. If you want to keep money flowing in your life and working for you, then define for yourself what type of wealthy person you want to be.

Once you have a clear picture of the type of person you envision yourself to be and how you will handle money, then you can move toward creating it in your personal life. All it takes is a bit of introspection and reworking your internal definitions on what it means to be wealthy.

3. Hormonal patches. It is a thin, 2in by 2 in patch that slowly releases hormones into the body within the span of a week before it is replaced.

4. Birth control implants. It is a thin flexible plastic rod to be inserted under the skin of the upper arm of the woman to slowly release synthetic hormones into the body within the span of a year before it is replaced.

The intra-uterine device (IUD) is a T-shaped rod placed inside the uterus to created a localized inflammation so that the bodies auto-immune system will create white blood cells to repair the infection and in turn kill sperm cells that get within the vicinity of the inflammation.

There are many career paths to take. So before anything else, you should make sure that you're on the right path. Oftentimes, people end up with a job or career that they are not interested in; they simply manage to push through with it because they need the money.

In today's hard times, having a good paying job is already enough. You can finance all your expenses, most especially if you have children to support. But if the situation is like this, a time will come when you will finally get tired of doing a work that you're not interested in.

If you belong in the generation of the baby boomers, you already have a career by now. You're the type of person who wants to work harder and for longer hours. These are just few of the things that you can do before seeking for a new career. Your job experience matters in getting into another career, as well as relevant trainings.

Change is natural. The world changes every day; inventions can happen overnight. But with a career change, you can't do it with the snap of your finger. You should consider a lot of things like your family, your needs, and other important matters.
